Emily Scott

Emily Scott joined Orchids in 2016 and maintains the books for the company. She is a high school freshman at the University Scholars Program of the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School and a proud holder of the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for individual recognition from the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education. This year, Emily is enrolled in all honors-leveled courses along with two AP courses. Emily is an alumnus of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, in which she created a product that is now patent-pending. Emily also participates in non-academic activities such as swimming and classical piano. She is ranked in the top 35% of swimmers her age and is about to complete level 6 of the Suzuki Piano Program. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends, and experimenting with calligraphy. Emily has received the Delaware County Council’s 10th annual Excellence in Youth Award. Emily has previous work in philanthropy through volunteering at Christmas to carol at nursing homes, starting a battery and CD recycling program to help clean the environment, and raising money for various causes including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and help for earthquake victims in Japan. Emily also has donated numerous supplies and stuffed animals to children in need through the Cradles to Crayons program and the Never Alone with Love foundation. Emily is thrilled to be working for Orchids and she is excited for the many years to come!
