We built the school
And we found 20 sponsors to shepherd the children through each school year. Each child now receives enough money to provide for their education, healthcare and nutrition while attending the school. Thank You to all the Orchids of Light who made this dream come true!

Current Project: Sunrise Village Dormitories
At Sunrise School, we're working to build a new dormitory that will be a safe and nurturing home for 250 students. The dormitory is designed with two floors — girls will live on the upper floor, and boys will stay on the ground floor. We've completed the first floor, adding waterproofing to ensure the building is secure. Now, we need your support to finish the second story, build a retaining wall to protect against floods, and furnish the interior.
Why This Matters: These children are full of hope and determination. They attend school each day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn and grow. However, they need a safe place to stay, especially during the rainy season. A completed dormitory will provide them with the stability they deserve.
How You Can Help:
The project has raised and deliverd over $50,000.00 since 2023. We now stand at the rooftop to complete the second story and open the entire facility to all 250 children!
To finish this project, we need to raise $20,000. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving these kids the secure home they need. Your support will directly impact their lives, providing them with the environment they need to thrive. Join us in making this vision a reality—because when we all come together, we can achieve something truly extraordinary.
Get Involved: Donate today and help us create a brighter future for these children. Your generosity can make a lasting difference.
NOVEMBER 2024 PROGRESS UPDATE
November 2024
The second story construction has begun thanks to a $4000.00 grant resulting from individual donations and the proceeds of a benefit concert in France...
MAY 2025 PROGRESS UPDATE
MAY 2025
Work on the second story and roof was undertaken in January with a $10,000 grant from a single donor. Tremendous progress was made. Now the work has paused as we seek additional funding to complete the interior and make the second story inhabitable for the 125 boys still staying in the original wood and stick building.
September 2025 PROGRESS UPDATE
September 20, 2025
$5,200 was received towards the construction and completion of the critical splash apron for the dormitory block. This investment insurers that the seasonal flooding will not have an adverse affect on the new building. Local labor and materials were sourced for this success story.
